Conservation

Conservation of endangered animals and their habitats and preservation of indigenous peoples’ culture is imperative- if lost, they can not be replaced.

Each is inextricably linked to the other two, and any conservation effort with true hopes of success must address each of these three if any are to be saved.

Indigenous people in the Amazon are the local stewards of both the rain forest and its endangered animal inhabitants.  No amount of conservation effort to save trees or animals will work without the support and cooperation of the local peoples.  The situation is similar around the World.  In recognition of this, we are dedicated to supporting multi-tiered programs of conservation to address not only the diminishing habitats of endangered animals but also the Lives and concerns of the local people who live along side them.

It is our belief that by building community support and appreciation for indigenous culture and by instilling a sense of value to local natural plant and animal resources among the local people, it is possible to attain truly sustainable conservation.
